Gwadar: Public Health Engineering Secretary Saleh Muhammad Baloch on Tuesday directed the authorities concerned to ensure a steady supply of potable water to Gwadar — a news source reported. Baloch issued these instructions while chairing a meeting to assess the situation of potable water in the city and address any issues related to the matter.
A number of other high officials of the local and provincial government also attended the meeting. Addressing the session, the Secretary further instructed the relevant officials to ensure that Jiwani is also ensured a consistent supply of potable water.
The meeting was informed that the Gwadar Development Authority is constructing a 68-kilometre-long water supply line between Gwadar and the Sood Dam, at a cost of PKR 3.8 billion. After the project has been completed, the supply of water from the dam to the city will begin and help significantly address any water issues in the area.
