Lahore: Commissioner Zulfiqar Ghumman has revealed that the Punjab Land Record Authority (PLRA) would provide ‘universal access’ to fard-e-malkiat documentsin order to facilitate the public and improve the provincial government’s ease-of-doing-business initiative, a news source reported on September 28.
Through the new measure, the general public will not need to visit a particular tehsil for obtaining the fard for a property located within it. People will just have to visit their nearest tehsil office of the PLRA to obtain the required fard.
According to details, the new measure will be implemented by December; allowing the public to obtain the record of rights (fard) for a property located in any tehsil from any PLRA office. In addition to this, the general public will also be able to obtain the transfer documents on the basis of universal access by March next year.
