Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has offered collaboration opportunities to the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) in key housing, transport and urban development projects across the province during a meeting in Lahore.
She met AIIB Chief Investment Officer Konstantin Limitovskiy, who was accompanied by AIIB Director General Xiaohong Yang, and discussed potential areas of institutional cooperation in development initiatives.
During the meeting, the chief minister briefed the delegation on ongoing provincial projects and highlighted flagship initiatives, including the “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” housing programme, which she said has delivered over 100,000 homes within a year.
She also outlined progress on electric bus and e-bike programmes aimed at promoting environmentally friendly public transport in Punjab.

Maryam Nawaz further noted cooperation with AIIB in water and sanitation projects in Lahore, including an MoU for improving infrastructure, as well as planned development works such as wastewater drainage systems and water treatment facilities.
According to her statement, Punjab is focusing on clean water supply, improved healthcare access, and modern transport systems under a broader shift toward data-driven, climate-sensitive urban governance.
The meeting concluded with both sides expressing interest in expanding cooperation in infrastructure and development sectors across Punjab.
