Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has ordered the registration of First Information Reports (FIRs) against all illegal housing schemes operating within its jurisdiction, as part of a crackdown to protect citizens from fraud and unauthorized developments.
The directive was issued by Commissioner Rawalpindi Division and RDA Director General Engineer Ameer Khattak during a special meeting on Wednesday. He instructed the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate to take action against all illegal housing schemes strictly in accordance with the law.

Engineer Khattak directed all RDA directorates, including Estate Management and MP&TE, to perform their duties responsibly and professionally, while continuing strict measures against illegal elements. He emphasized that the authority would take impartial and decisive steps to enforce urban development laws, safeguard citizens’ rights, and eliminate fraud and corruption.
The commissioner also urged the public to verify housing projects through the official RDA website and to avoid investing in unapproved schemes. He called on the media to inform citizens in the public interest, reinforcing transparency and accountability in urban development.
Senior RDA officials, including the Additional Director General, Chief Planner, and directors of administration, land, estate management, and finance, attended the meeting.
