Karachi: A senior delegation of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) met Sindh Senior Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon on Wednesday to review the progress of the Red Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project in Karachi.
The meeting, held at the minister’s office, was attended by ADB representatives David Margonsztern, Syed Umar Ali Shah, Hameed Khan, Francois Louis-Guillaume, Ahsan Paracha, and Wenjing Pu. Sindh Secretary Transport & Mass Transit Asad Zamin and Trans Karachi CEO Fawad Ghaffar Soomro were also present.

Officials briefed the delegation on the ongoing construction activities under Lot One and Lot Two of the Red Line BRT. ADB representatives termed the project vital for Karachi’s transport system and assured continued financial and technical support for its timely and high-quality completion.
Sharjeel Memon said the Red Line BRT was a priority project of the Sindh government, aimed at providing safe, affordable, and efficient transport for millions of daily commuters. He directed all relevant agencies to remain in close coordination and enhance cooperation to accelerate progress.
The meeting concluded with an understanding that all stakeholders would work on a unified strategy to ensure the project is delivered on schedule.
