Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has directed authorities to demonstrate visible progress on the Karak Salt and Gypsum City project within the next three months, expressing concern over delays in a scheme he described as strategically important for the province.
The directive was issued during a meeting to review development priorities, governance, law and order, and public service delivery in the Kohat Division.
According to an official statement, Afridi said the Karak Salt and Gypsum City project has significant potential to boost provincial revenues, promote industrial development and create employment opportunities for local communities. He instructed the relevant departments to accelerate work and ensure measurable progress within the stipulated timeframe.

The chief minister also announced the formal launch of divisional performance review meetings following the approval of the provincial budget, saying the initiative would help ensure timely completion of development projects and improve public service delivery across the province.
He directed departments to prioritise projects with the greatest public impact and ensure that development schemes nearing completion are made operational without delay.
Reviewing the health sector, Afridi instructed authorities to expedite the District Headquarters Hospitals Revamping Programme and ordered action against staff found absent from duty at a hospital in Hangu, reiterating that negligence in public health institutions would not be tolerated.
He also sought a comprehensive list of major pending public sector projects across the province to facilitate their timely completion on a priority basis.
