Islamabad: The Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) has initiated work on developing Sectors F-14 and F-15 in Islamabad with a focus on introducing unconventional residential and recreational features aimed at creating a modern and environmentally sustainable housing model.
According to officials, the initiative is being implemented under the directives of the Ministry of Housing & Works and the FGEHA leadership, with technical teams actively working on a comprehensive horticulture, landscaping and environmental enhancement plan for the sectors.
As part of the plan, a detailed consultation process was held with horticulture experts and engineering teams, followed by a site visit to review potential development areas and natural features within the sectors.
The proposed development includes environmentally focused infrastructure such as modern check dams for rainwater conservation and groundwater recharge, as well as large-scale nurseries designed to support extensive plantation and greenery across the project area.

In addition, the plan outlines the development of a range of recreational and lifestyle facilities, including cycling tracks, pedestrian walkways, scenic viewpoints, seating areas, boating points and suspension bridges integrated within the natural landscape.
Officials said the project also places emphasis on preserving existing natural features, including a cave and a natural lake in Sector F-14, which will be enhanced through modern engineering and landscaping techniques to serve as recreational and ecological attractions.
Consultants and relevant contractors have been directed to incorporate modern horticultural and environmentally friendly elements into the master planning and design framework on a priority basis.
FGEHA leadership stated that the development of F-14 and F-15 is intended to go beyond conventional housing schemes, focusing instead on a model that combines urban planning with environmental sustainability and enhanced public amenities.
The project is expected to establish a distinct identity for the sectors within the federal capital, offering residents a planned, green and recreation-oriented living environment.
