Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has directed its engineering wing to expedite development work in Sector E-12 on a priority basis, according to official sources.
The instructions were issued by CDA Chairman retired Lt. Sohail Ashraf, who emphasized that unresolved land and compensation issues should be addressed without delay to ensure timely completion of the sector’s development.
Sources said the chairman also instructed the land directorate to resolve legitimate concerns of local landowners on priority. He noted that while the CDA has taken possession of land in parts of the sector, one sub-sector remains fully under adverse possession, while another is partially affected.
The chairman reportedly stressed that action should be taken against encroachers, while simultaneously ensuring fair resolution of pending compensation matters for affected residents.

Development work in the sector has remained incomplete, with partial progress reported in some sub-sectors, including sub-base work on several streets. However, sub-sector E-12/4 is still under adverse possession, with no visible development activity.
Officials said the CDA leadership is now focusing closely on resolving these issues to move the project forward. The civic body has yet to fully secure possession of the area, while the land directorate has repeatedly faced delays in finalizing balloting for allotment of plots to affectees.
A major challenge remains the reluctance of some local residents to vacate the land, pending allocation of alternative plots.
