Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to fully digitise its records within 120 days, enabling citizens to track the status of their applications online.
The directive was issued during a high-level meeting chaired by the minister to review ongoing public projects and upcoming development initiatives in the federal capital, Islamabad.
Naqvi emphasised that no illegal housing societies would be allowed to operate in the city, warning of strict action against unauthorised developers. He also stressed the need to improve transparency and public access through digitisation of records and services.
The meeting reviewed progress on major infrastructure and recreational projects. Officials briefed the minister on the pre-qualification of three international firms for the construction of a convention centre, an expo centre and the Islamabad Arena, with instructions to complete these projects ahead of the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.

The CDA informed the meeting that land has been allocated for a new service centre in the F-6 sector. Plans are also in place to begin work on several recreational facilities, including a golf course, hot air balloon rides, a zip line, a water park and an amusement park, aimed at enhancing leisure options for residents.
Naqvi directed authorities to develop a modern sports complex and prepare a comprehensive plan to upgrade F-9 Park into a high-standard recreational space comparable to Hyde Park. He also called for a detailed plan to introduce entertainment and tourism facilities around Shahdara Dam.
In addition, the minister ordered immediate beautification and lighting work on the Islamabad Expressway and Club Road to improve the city’s urban outlook.
The CDA chairman told the meeting that construction of the Expressway service road would begin after approval from the Planning Division.
