Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday unveiled Pakistan’s New Energy Vehicle (NEV) Policy 2025-30, describing it as a landmark step towards a greener economy.
The policy aims to accelerate the adoption of electric and hybrid vehicles in the country, reduce reliance on fossil fuels, and help mitigate the effects of climate change. It also focuses on creating new employment opportunities and ensuring that the benefits of the transition extend across all segments of society.

According to the Prime Minister, the NEV Policy is designed not only to modernize Pakistan’s transport sector but also to strengthen the local auto industry by encouraging new investments and technological advancements.
