Badin: Experts have asked the federal, provincial, and district level governments to include public feedback during budget preparation, a news source reported. The experts said that the government should ensure full and active participation of the common man in this process, both at the district and provincial levels.
The Indus Development Society (IDS) organised a seminar called ‘Consultation Over Preparation of District Budget’ in collaboration with the Centre for Peace & Development Initiative (CPDI) at the Thalassemia Centre Hall, Badin on Wednesday. A significant number of speakers attended the seminar. These included renowned names like Razia Ujjan, Tufiq Ahmed Wasan, Fida Soomro, Dr Sahib Khan Khoso, Khadim Talpur, Hyder Panhwar, and Noor Jahan Chandio.
The speakers stressed that the process of budget preparation ignored the participation of the common people at each level. They added the government should devise a plan in order to determine the demands of common people within a district.
The speakers concluded the seminar saying that the government departments and district administration must ensure public involvement – especially from women – while preparing the budget.
