Faisalabad: The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has sought a 7-month extension in the deadline given to complete the Kashmir Underpass’s construction work on Canal Road, a news source reported. As per the publication, only an estimated 40% of the development work has been completed so far.
So far, over PKR 1.28 billion has been allocated to the FDA for the project that was originally launched in January 2018. However, the full amount could not be released due to the austerity measures of the current government and the construction work had to be stopped.
The locals have complained of the traffic issues caused by the lack of an underpass and the narrowing of the road due to construction work.
The City Commissioner recently paid a visit to the construction site for the project, where he was informed by the Chief Engineer Shahid Mehmood that it is expected to be completed by the end of June, next year.
