Commissioner Anwar said a comprehensive plan has been prepared to restore the Clock Tower, improve surrounding bazaars, and upgrade parks, chowks, and green belts across the city. “The renovation will be carried out in phases, with all electricity, gas, and water supply lines around the Clock Tower shifted underground to provide citizens with improved facilities,” he added.
Deputy Commissioner Nasir emphasised the project’s cultural and economic significance, noting that the Clock Tower and its eight bazaars represent the identity of Faisalabad. “Their beautification will not only restore the city’s historical image but also attract tourism,” he said.
According to official sources, PKR 380 million has been allocated for the renovation of Ghanta Ghar, Ghumti, and Kutchery Bazaar, while an additional PKR 320 million has been set aside for an underground electricity scheme in the area.
