Karachi: Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah has approved the design of an underground bus stop at Numaish, according to a news source. This stop was stated to be part of the Green Line Bus Rapid Transit project (BRT). This approval was given on Thursday at a meeting held at the CM House. Green Line BRT Project Director and Principal Secretary to the Governor Sualeh Farooqui stated that the Numaish bus stop would be a central part of the mega-project. Therefore, a mezzanine floor would be built into the underpass, along with a retail area. This retail area was reported to be a potential non-fare revenue generator for the sustenance of the BRT. However, it was slated to be a future public-private partnership. The CM also directed Farooqui to invite tenders so work could start in a timely manner and also approved the design of the Green Line BRT from Numaish to Tower.
