Islamabad: The authorities concerned have finalised the draft of the Gwadar master plan and are set to present it to the federal cabinet for its approval ahead of the Eid-ul-Azha holidays, a news source quoted Coordinator Nadir Baloch as saying.
Previously, the China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) – a subsidiary of the First Harbour Engineering Company – had reviewed the proposed blueprint. Similarly, the governing body of the Gwadar Development Authority is expected to review the document today (August 8).
As per reports, the officials concerned had commenced with the drafting work on the master plan in 2017. For this purpose, the CCCC had submitted its final report to the Ministry of Planning in June this year.
CPEC Project Director Hassan Daud Butt said that the master plan was drafted within the prescribed timeframe of two years.
The blueprint provides a long-term layout plan for infrastructural and energy development projects planned under the multi-billion-dollar (CPEC) initiative.
