The Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif inaugurated Sixth Road Flyover on 10th January, 2013. The flyover was opened for traffic on 5th January but Shahbaz Sharif formally inaugurated it on Thursday and later addressed a public meeting at Pir Mehar Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University.
Due to the VIP movement on Benazir Bhutto Road, the traffic signals were switched off. Resultantly, vehicular traffic remained blocked on several roads connecting Benazir Bhutto Road to other parts of the city. Roads that experienced the traffic chaos include Liaquat Road, Iqbal Road, Sir Syed Road, Circular Road and Asghar Mall Road.
