Islamabad: Pakistan’s IT and IT-enabled Services (ITeS) exports have reached a record-breaking USD 4.6 billion in the fiscal year 2024-25, marking a 26.4% year-on-year growth, according to figures released by the Ministry of IT and Telecom.
The ministry attributed this milestone to the strategic direction provided by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and a coordinated whole-of-government approach aimed at expanding Pakistan’s digital economy. Officials noted that focused investments in infrastructure, skill development, and digital connectivity played a critical role in supporting this growth.

In particular, efforts to ensure high-speed internet availability for businesses and freelancers, along with reforms to protect and incentivize the tech industry, have been instrumental. The government’s broader push for digitization—especially initiatives promoting cashless transactions and a robust digital framework—has further strengthened the ecosystem.
The Ministry highlighted that Pakistan’s improved visibility in international markets and the rising global demand for tech services have enabled local companies, startups, and freelancers to secure more contracts abroad.
This strong performance not only reflects the growing maturity of Pakistan’s digital workforce but also reaffirms the country’s emergence as a competitive player in the global tech landscape.
