Karachi: Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has voiced concern over the deteriorating state of Karachi’s infrastructure, saying it fails to reflect the stature of Pakistan’s economic hub, according to a news report.
He said progress on the Lyari Expressway remained unsatisfactory. “This is my promise to the people of Karachi, the Lyari Expressway will be transformed into a model infrastructure,” he affirmed.
The minister announced that development work on the M-6 Motorway (Sukkur–Hyderabad) and the M-10 Motorway (Hyderabad–Karachi Port) will begin within this financial year, calling them a gift from the Federal Government to the people of Sindh.
He added that once completed, the two motorways will link Karachi Port directly with the rest of the country, significantly boosting trade, logistics, and connectivity. Abdul Aleem Khan reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to modernizing Sindh’s infrastructure with projects that uphold the highest standards of transparency, quality, and efficiency.
He shared these remarks on his official X handle, noting that he is currently in Karachi to attend the Pakistan International Maritime Expo and Conference (PIMEC 2025).
