Islamabad: Authorities in the federal capital have launched a strict zero-tolerance campaign against illegal advertisements and unauthorized signboards. Section 144 has been imposed across the district, and criminal cases are being filed against companies and individuals found violating regulations.
The Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) has initiated an enforcement drive across commercial hubs, removing illegal signage from public spaces. Officials noted that unregulated advertisements not only disrupt the city’s visual and structural planning but can also pose physical risks if heavy or improperly installed boards fall.Under the supervision of the Directorate of Municipal Administration, MCI teams have started a city-wide cleanup operation. Banners, posters, stickers, and streamers installed on government land, green belts, transformers, generators, and other public infrastructure are being systematically removed.
