Islamabad: The Pakistan-China Agricultural Investment Conference will be held in the federal capital on Monday, with the objective of boosting the agriculture sector and promoting a green economy in the country.
The conference, organised by the Ministry of National Food Security and Research, will bring together around 115 Chinese and 165 Pakistani companies. Government officials, policymakers and members of the business community will participate in discussions aimed at encouraging investment in Pakistan’s agricultural sector, according to an official statement.

Several memorandums of understanding (MoUs) are expected to be signed during the conference, as Chinese companies are likely to commit substantial investments in various areas of agriculture.
Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain said Pakistan-China agricultural cooperation would help modernize the sector. He added that the conference is expected to contribute to farmers’ prosperity while strengthening the national economy.
