Peshawar: Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has approved bringing Nasir Bagh Road under the jurisdiction of the Peshawar Development Authority and directed the enforcement of a structured building control and regulatory regime in the area.
The decision was taken while chairing the 14th meeting of the PDA on Friday, according to an official handout. The matter will now be placed before the provincial cabinet for final approval.
Officials said the move aims to ensure planned and regulated urban development along the road. The chief minister directed that a minimum building setback of 20 feet be maintained on properties along Nasir Bagh Road and instructed authorities to remove encroachments while minimizing inconvenience to the public.
The meeting also reviewed a wide range of urban development, governance, and infrastructure-related matters and approved several policy and operational decisions. The PDA budget for the fiscal year 2025–26 was also approved.

A one-time relaxation was granted for the restoration of 171 previously cancelled plots, subject to payment of outstanding dues and rectification of violations. Applications for restoration have been directed to be submitted by June 30.
The chief minister further approved the establishment of an enforcement directorate within the PDA and endorsed procedures for the registration of property dealers in Hayatabad and Regi Model Town to strengthen regulatory oversight.
He also directed the formation of a grievance redressal committee, allowing employees to submit complaints within ten days for timely resolution.
Separately, the proposal to develop Hayatabad Township as a gated community, including the boundary walls and a surveillance system, was reviewed. The chief minister directed that a detailed plan be submitted for formal approval, noting that the initiative is to improve security and manage traffic flow.
Authorities said the decisions reflect a broader push to strengthen urban planning, enforcement, and service delivery in Peshawar.
