Lahore: More than 35,500 families have successfully completed the construction of their homes under the Apni Chhat Apni Ghar programme, according to official data shared by the Punjab Housing Department.
The total number of beneficiary families across the province has now reached 117,159, while construction work on the houses of 72,254 families is currently underway. So far, over PKR 142 billion has been allocated for the development of these housing units.

Officials said that thousands of low-income households continue to benefit from the interest-free loans provided under the scheme, which are available for a period of nine years. They added that the government plans to extend these loans to 500,000 families over the next five years.
According to the Housing Department, the programme’s progress reflects the vision of the Chief Minister of Punjab, who has emphasized simple and accessible procedures to support low-income families in building their homes.
Authorities noted that the initiative is also contributing to the growth of the construction sector, with rapid development of concrete houses in both rural and urban areas.
