Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has expressed gratitude over the successful achievement of the provincial government’s target to provide loans for the construction of 100,000 houses under the Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar programme before the end of the year.
According to official data, Rs120 billion in easy and interest-free loans have been disbursed to 100,835 low-income families under the initiative. Of these, 22,305 houses have been completed and occupied, while construction of 64,190 houses is nearing completion.
The chief minister congratulated the beneficiaries and appreciated the project team for completing the one-year target in just ten months. She said the achievement marked a major milestone in Punjab’s housing sector, fulfilling the government’s commitment to providing affordable housing for the underprivileged.

Maryam Nawaz added that the transparent disbursement of one lakh loans in record time reflected good governance and administrative efficiency. Reaffirming her government’s resolve, she said that efforts would continue to achieve the larger goal of constructing 500,000 houses in five years.
The chief minister said the initiative had given ordinary citizens a renewed sense of inclusion and care, describing the programme as a symbol of a compassionate state that prioritises the welfare of its people.
