Mardan: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced a development package worth PKR 50 billion for District Mardan, aimed at upgrading the city’s transport infrastructure and road network.
According to official details, PKR 25 billion has been allocated specifically for projects under the Communication and Works sector. The initiative focuses on improving connectivity, easing traffic congestion, and modernising urban infrastructure across the district.
The development plan includes the introduction of modern traffic management systems and updated engineering solutions to improve mobility within Mardan city. A key feature of the package is the construction and rehabilitation of a district-wide circular road designed to streamline traffic flow and enhance intra-city connectivity.
Major road projects under the plan include the dualization of the road from Jawad Chowk to Baghdad Chowk and the expansion of the Shahbaz Garhi to Taro Jabba Road into a dual carriageway. The construction of the Katlang Bypass and Hothi Bridge is also part of the package to improve safety and ensure smoother traffic movement.
