Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced on Saturday that the provincial government has resolved 1,005 cases of illegal land occupation in just two days, marking a significant step in the crackdown against land grabbers. She emphasized that cases involving women would be handled on top priority, with immediate possession granted once decisions are issued.
Chairing a high-level meeting to review the implementation of the Possession of Property Ordinance, the Chief Minister said she was closely monitoring progress through a live dashboard. She warned that delays, negligence, or improper recommendations would no longer be tolerated and stressed that every case must ensure the original owner regains visible possession of the land.

CM Maryam Nawaz said that any citizen whose land or property has been illegally occupied may approach the office of the relevant deputy commissioner, who is required to decide the matter within a few days.
The Chief Minister framed the ongoing crackdown as a decisive move to restore citizen confidence in the state’s authority and enforce the rule of law, signaling a major shift away from entrenched land mafias in Punjab.
