Rawalpindi: The Dream Water Supply Project-I in Rawalpindi has moved into the financial bidding stage after completion of technical evaluation for bids submitted by six companies competing for the re-award of two major contract packages.
According to official developments, the technical assessment has been finalized and a detailed evaluation report has been forwarded to the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for final approval. The combined estimated value of the two contract packages stands at PKR 20.4 billion.
The next phase of the process will involve financial bidding, which will be opened for companies that have successfully met the technical qualification criteria. Officials expect the contracts to be awarded within the next month.

The project contracts will be executed through joint ventures between Pakistani and foreign firms, in line with project requirements aimed at ensuring technical expertise and implementation capacity.
Once completed, the Dream Water Supply Project-I is expected to significantly enhance Rawalpindi’s water supply system. The scheme will add approximately 12 million gallons per day (MGD) of water from Chahan Dam, along with an additional 5 MGD sourced from Rawal and Khanpur dams.
The project is scheduled for completion by December 2027 and is considered a key initiative to strengthen the city’s long-term water infrastructure and meet growing demand.
