Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has finalised its annual budget for the fiscal year 2025–26, setting the outlay at PKR 3,953 million. The Finance Sub-Committee, chaired by RDA Director General Kinza Murtaza, vetted the budget and submitted the estimates for development expenditure to the Government of Punjab for final approval.
The sub-committee included representatives from the Finance Department, Planning & Development (P&D) Department, and the Housing, Urban Development & Public Health Engineering (HUD&PHE) Department. The meeting reviewed RDA’s financial plan to ensure alignment with Rawalpindi’s strategic development priorities.
It was disclosed that PKR 8,808 million has been separately earmarked for ongoing and new schemes aimed at improving infrastructure and urban development in the city.
Key projects include:
- Rawalpindi Ring Road – R3 Project: Construction of a 38.3 km carriageway from Banth (N-5) to Thalian (M-2), with an allocation of PKR 32,997.054 million.
- Nullah Leh Project: Feasibility study and detailed design of trunk/outfall sewer along the Nullah Lai corridor (N-5), with an allocation of PKR 1,000 million.
- Rawalpindi Ring Road (Phase-II): Feasibility study and detailed design from Thalian (M-2) to GT Road (N-5), with an allocation of PKR 1,000 million.
The meeting was attended by senior officials including Qazi Sohaib Ahmad, Director Administration & Finance RDA; Masood Arshad, Deputy Director Finance RDA; and representatives from the Finance, HUD&PHE, and P&D departments.
DG RDA Kinza Murtaza stated that the proposed budget reflects the authority’s commitment to advancing infrastructure and ensuring sustainable urban development across the Rawalpindi region.
