Lahore: The Punjab government has approved Rs2.5 billion for key development projects across the province, focusing on road infrastructure, emergency services, tourism enhancement, and agricultural research.
Under 17 approved development schemes, the funds will be used for the construction, expansion, and improvement of paved roads in the Cholistan region, boosting connectivity and local infrastructure. As part of these initiatives, the government has also approved the purchase of 34 emergency vehicles and the creation of 323 new posts to support effective project implementation.

To strengthen tourism, the Punjab government has cleared a proposal for new vehicles for the Punjab Tourism Force, aimed at improving tourism operations and services at popular destinations.
In agriculture, the Date Palm Research Sub-Station in Jhang will receive upgrades, while research projects focusing on papaya varietal improvement and Papaya Leaf Curl Virus management have also been approved. These initiatives aim to support sustainable farming and enhance agricultural productivity in the region.
With these approvals, the Punjab government reinforces its commitment to infrastructure development, tourism promotion, and agricultural innovation, contributing to improved public services and regional growth.
