Lahore: The Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) has invited expressions of interest (EOIs) from well-reputed developers and consortium firms for ‘state-of-the-art’ designing and development of the Ravi River Development City initiative – part of the Ravi Riverfront Urban Development (RRUD) Project, according to a news source published on August 21.
With this latest development, the RUDA has launched work to initiate the phase-wise development of the RRUD. As per the details, in the first phase of the project, some 3-10 thousand acres of land will be divided into several zones.
Moreover, the provincial government aims to revive the lost heritage and glory of the once-mighty river in Lahore. The RRUD Project aims to control pollution in the areas surrounding the river and treating the water inflowing in the river to make the atmosphere eco-friendly. The project plans to develop a modern smart city to counter the issues being created by the ever-increasing population of Lahore.
Under this initiative, thousands of low-cost housing units will also be developed in the Ravi River Development City – under Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan’s Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP).
