Karachi: Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon on Monday announced a series of welfare initiatives aimed at providing relief to citizens affected by rising fuel prices.
Speaking at a press conference in Karachi, he said the provincial government has designed targeted welfare programmes using data from the Benazir Income Support Programme to ensure better delivery of financial assistance to deserving households.
He outlined key measures across housing, agriculture, and transport sectors, including large-scale housing support for low-income families, financial assistance for farmers, and subsidies in public transport services.

Memon said initiatives for farmers include direct financial support and new facilitation programmes, while efforts are also underway to improve urban mobility through subsidised transport and planned introduction of women-focused mobility options.
He added that the government’s broader approach focuses on easing inflationary pressure through targeted welfare interventions and expanding access to basic services across Sindh.
