Washington: Pakistan is actively exploring a potential collaboration with SpaceX to bring Starlink satellite internet services to underserved and remote regions of the country, as part of its broader efforts to enhance digital infrastructure and drive innovation.
During a recent visit to SpaceX headquarters in Los Angeles, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, along with Consul General Asim Ali Khan and other senior officials, engaged in high-level discussions with key Starlink executives. The talks focused on leveraging SpaceX’s low-Earth orbit satellite network to expand broadband access across Pakistan.

Ambassador Sheikh was briefed by the vice president of Starlink Global Business Operations and the director of Global Business Development on the commercial potential of Starlink’s technology. The Pakistani delegation also toured the SpaceX facility, gaining insights into the company’s advancements in space, connectivity, and telecommunications.
Sheikh emphasized the “transformative potential” of Starlink in bridging Pakistan’s digital divide and reiterated the country’s commitment to innovation-led development through international partnerships. He highlighted the importance of affordable, high-speed internet for economic growth, education, and access to services in remote areas.
