Karachi: The Sindh Police has prepared a comprehensive security plan for Karachi’s Northern Bypass (M-10 Motorway) — with a SWAT team comprising of the provincial police department’s Special Security Unit (SSU) commandoes to be made available at the SSU headquarters for the roads’ protection, a news source reported.
These measures were announced by Additional Inspector General (AIG) Ghulam Nabi Memon, and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Security & Emergency Services Maqsood Ahmad.
Speaking on the matter, the officials stated that the M10 was an essential route for commuters, and that, as such, ensuring its security was of the utmost importance. They added that the Security & Emergency Services Division staff and officials had been tasked with monitoring the motorway day-and-night — with the personnel expected to work in three shifts over a 24-hour period.
The M10 is a major road in Karachi, as it connects the Super Highway M9 with the Lyari Expressway.
