Quetta: The Balochistan Revenue Authority has directed all property developers and promoters in the province to complete mandatory registration and submit tax returns for each tax period in accordance with provincial regulations.
According to an official notification, services related to land development and the construction of residential and commercial units fall under the Balochistan Sales Tax on Services Act, which imposes specific tax rates on these activities.
Under the new rules, a tax of PKR 100 per square yard has been fixed for services involving the conversion of purchased or leased land into residential or commercial plots. Additionally, a tax of PKR 50 per square foot has been levied on the construction of residential and commercial units.

The BRA emphasised that all developers and promoters are legally required to register with the authority and comply with the tax obligations within the stipulated timelines. Failure to do so may result in penalties and legal proceedings under the law.
The authority urged all business entities in the construction and real estate sector to adhere strictly to these regulations to ensure transparency, accountability, and timely contribution to the provincial revenue system.
