Islamabad: The government on Thursday announced a sharp increase in fuel prices, raising petrol by PKR 137.24 per litre and high-speed diesel (HSD) by PKR 184.49 per litre.
Following the hike, the price of petrol has been set at PKR 458.40 per litre, while HSD will now cost PKR 520.35 per litre, according to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy. The new rates will take effect from today (April 3).

Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik announced the revised prices at a press conference alongside Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb. The government also increased the price of kerosene by PKR 34.08 per litre, taking it to PKR 457.80 per litre.
The latest increase comes amid rising global oil prices triggered by ongoing geopolitical tensions, which have significantly impacted fuel costs.
