Jamrud: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has begun implementing Chief Minister Sohail Afridi’s announcement to construct 57 new roads across the Khyber district, with tenders now issued for several key projects.
Officials said that work has already started on a few smaller roads in Jamrud tehsil, while construction on larger routes is set to begin soon. Among these is the Gharizah Road, which will stretch four and a half kilometers from Jamrud Bypass to Choti Canal.

Other planned projects include a 2.5-kilometer road from Shagai to Lala China Ali Masjid, a road connecting Bakarabad to Ghundi, and the Warmandu Mela Road to Azgho Mela.
The provincial government has allocated Rs14 billion for the construction of these roads, aiming to improve connectivity, boost local development, and facilitate easier transportation for residents.
Officials emphasized that the projects are part of KP’s broader infrastructure development strategy, which seeks to enhance road networks in remote and underserved areas of the province.
