Rawalpindi: The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) has received the feasibility study for the Daducha Dam water supply project, a major initiative aimed at addressing Rawalpindi’s long-standing water shortage.
Prepared by consultant Usmani & Co JV, the feasibility study estimates the project cost at Rs51 billion. Under the plan, the project will supply an additional 35 million gallons of water per day to Rawalpindi city and cantonment areas.
WASA will forward the feasibility report, along with a working paper, to the Planning and Development (P&D) Wing Punjab for further processing. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz will grant final approval for the issuance of funds for the project.

Once approved, construction of the Daducha Dam water supply project is expected to be completed within three years. Upon completion, the project is expected to ensure year-round water availability and significantly ease the water scarcity faced by residents of Rawalpindi city and cantonment.
