Peshawar: Development work on the New Peshawar Valley project is gaining momentum, with rapid progress seen in land demarcation, infrastructure planning, and administrative setup—marking a major step toward the creation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s first fully master-planned modern city.
The project, designed to ease pressure on urban Peshawar, aims to deliver world-class residential and commercial infrastructure to citizens and investors alike. In recent weeks, land demarcation has been completed from Point Zero up to 7.5 kilometers of the 9.5-kilometer, 400-foot-wide expressway that forms the backbone of the development. Officials noted the absence of public resistance, indicating strong local cooperation.

The expressway route cuts through key areas such as Kundi Taza Din, Ali Beig, Wazir Ghari, Babee (Nowshera), and Urmar Mera and Urmar Payan (Peshawar), highlighting the project’s strategic regional coverage.
Out of the total notified land bank of over 105,000 kanals across six mouzas, more than 30,000 kanals have already been submitted for land sharing, with 13,000 kanal cases formally intimated. Significant contributions have come from Urmar Mera and Ghari Faizullah, which have provided 5,562 and 15,323 kanals respectively—sufficient to initiate both Phase One and Phase Two, each requiring approximately 12,000 kanals.
Initially overseen by the Peshawar Development Authority (PDA), the project faced delays and was later handed over to the Pakhtunkhwa Housing Authority (PHA). Since the transition, development activities have significantly picked up pace.
Dr. Amjad, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister, described New Peshawar Valley as a flagship initiative that prioritizes transparency, timely execution, and long-term sustainability. Interest in the project continues to grow among both local investors and overseas Pakistanis.

Project Director Dawood Shah shared that over 6,710 intimation letters have been issued, with Urmar Mera and Ghari Faizullah again leading in volume. He noted that the project has been divided into eight phases, each spanning around 12,000 kanals. Site offices have been established in key mouzas, with a focus on solar-powered operations and improved access through SDC Pabbi and Badda Bair.
With human resource deployment underway and essential infrastructure planning progressing, the New Peshawar Valley is steadily evolving into a transformative urban development for the province.
