Peshawar: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), National Highway Authority (NHA) and other line departments collaborated and successfully rehabilitated the 82-kilometre Chakdara-Fatehpur Road – with financial assistance from Saudi Fund for Development, according to news sources.
The said road connecting Chakdara, Mingora and Fatehpur, consists of two undivided lanes that are frequented by the local community and tourists. It took two years to complete the project and it has envisaged great enhancement in traffic flow. It will also increase the vehicle carrying capacity of the road, and will share the traffic load on other roads like Shamozai-Kabal-Mingora Road.
This project also aims to widen and improve the road through increased pavement width, higher load-bearing capacity, and proper drainage installation to facilitate the tourists and local population of the surrounding towns and cities.
The local residents have expressed happiness at this development, as it will benefit the community.
