Lahore: Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General Tahir Farooq has called for faster implementation of ongoing urban regeneration and infrastructure schemes across Lahore, as per the news source on September 23.
According to the details, the directives were issued during a meeting of the LDA Engineering Wing, where officials reviewed progress on several road improvement and urban development projects across the city.
During the meeting, the LDA DG stressed that the urban regeneration work along Ferozepur Road should be carried out according to required quality standards, with emphasis on the durability of completed works.
LDA Chief Engineer Israr Saeed briefed the meeting on rehabilitation activities at the underpasses along Canal Bank Road. According to the briefing, asphalt laying and road-signage improvements are underway at underpasses located along the route between Thokar and Mall Road. Repair and rehabilitation work on these structures is also progressing.
Officials further reported that the authority will undertake repair and rehabilitation work on the remaining portion of Atta Bakhsh Road. Following the completion of a 6-kilometre section, another 2.5-kilometre stretch will be constructed as part of the project.
The meeting also reviewed plans for the redevelopment of Ferozepur Road. The project covers approximately 15 kilometres on both sides of the road, extending from Ring Road to Canal Bank Road. Proposed works include improvements to building facades, along with the development of pedestrian pathways and parking spaces.
Updates were also shared on the pilot project along Ferozepur Road and ongoing work at the Abdul Sattar Edhi Underpass. The LDA officials additionally reviewed development activities on Barki Road and Kamahan-Ladhar Road.
