Lahore: The Punjab Central Business District Development Authority has announced a major eco-friendly initiative by allocating 55.9 acres for green spaces at CBD NSIT City, a flagship development being promoted as one of Pakistan’s largest information technology hubs.
According to an official statement, the green area will be developed in three phases as part of efforts to integrate environmental sustainability into the urban planning of the project.
Under the plan, the first phase will cover 42 acres, where plantation and park development activities will begin. The second phase will include 6.5 acres, while the third phase will add another 7.4 acres of green space, bringing the total to 55.9 acres.

Officials said the initiative aims to enhance the natural landscape of the IT city while creating a healthier environment for businesses, residents, and visitors. The green spaces are expected to improve the liveability of the project and contribute to sustainable urban development in the area.
Speaking on the occasion, Imran Amin said the authority is committed to balancing economic growth with environmental protection.
He stated that the allocation of green areas within NSIT City reflects the organisation’s vision of sustainable urban development where modern infrastructure and environmental responsibility go hand in hand.
Amin added that the initiative aligns with the development vision of Maryam Nawaz Sharif, under which CBD Punjab is working to contribute to the province’s economic progress while ensuring environmental protection and improved urban planning.
The authority said it will continue integrating sustainability into its development model as it advances major infrastructure and urban projects aimed at modernising Punjab’s commercial and technology landscape.
