Lahore: Senior Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab, Senator Anusha Rehman, visited NSIT City, Pakistan’s first and largest IT-focused development project, on Wednesday to review the progress and strategic direction of the flagship provincial technology initiative.
During the visit, she stressed the importance of fast-tracking the project in line with the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, highlighting the need to leverage advanced technologies to accelerate construction and promote economic growth and innovation.
CBD Punjab CEO Imran Amin briefed Senator Rehman on the project’s scope, planning philosophy, and implementation progress. He described NSIT City as a cornerstone initiative aimed at positioning Punjab as a regional hub for information technology, innovation, and high-value investment, while creating opportunities for skilled youth and startups.

Senator Anusha Rehman also underscored the need to deploy modern construction technologies and coordinate with relevant regulatory authorities to overcome bottlenecks and complete the first phase of NSIT City on schedule. She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening the IT ecosystem by linking industry with academia, focusing on emerging technologies, and developing comprehensive infrastructure to meet future demands.
She further revealed that multiple IT cities are planned across Punjab, and emphasized the importance of seeking active international and national collaboration to promote technology transfer, human resource capacity building, and advancements in the era of artificial intelligence.
The visit reflects Punjab’s continued focus on expanding its IT infrastructure, fostering innovation, and attracting investment, positioning NSIT City as a model for the province’s broader technology and economic development strategy.
