Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced that a 100,000 sq ft area of Sector D-12 has been carpeted under the rehabilitation project and the remaining work is being carried out on an expedited basis, according to news sources.
The Machinery Pool Organisation (MPO) is spearheading this carpeting work. The authority claims that in-house carpeting is 37% more budget efficient as compared to external contracts. The sources reported that CDA deems in-house carpeting as a way to expand the department’s resourcefulness, aside it’s economic advantages. The carpeting work over Major Road 3, facing WAPDA Grid Station and Service Road North, has also been completed under this rehabilitation project in D-12.
Under this project, the uplift, repair, maintenance, and rehabilitation of all major roads, streets, commercial areas (Markaz, Class III markets) is to be completed. The CDA officials have assured that despite this cost-efficient approach, the development work is being conducted with quality materials (approved by international environment quality standards).
