Islamabad: In a sweeping enforcement action, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) sealed 17 illegal and unapproved structures in Islamabad’s Zone-V for violating the Islamabad Building Control Regulations, 2020 (amended 2023).
The crackdown was conducted under the directives of the Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control, who also serves as Chairman CDA. The initiative is part of a broader campaign to curb unauthorized construction and ensure adherence to city planning and safety standards.

The operation was carried out by the Directorate General of Building and Housing Control (B&HC), in coordination with the CDA Enforcement Wing, Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration, and local police. The sealed properties included commercial buildings and marquees operating without approved building plans, necessary documentation, or payment of required dues.
Two under-construction buildings in the area were also sealed, and three separate Stop Work and Regularization Notices were issued to nearby violators along Japan Road. The CDA stated that these structures were engaging in commercial activity without obtaining mandatory approvals.
