Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has reaffirmed its commitment to curbing unauthorized construction in the capital while unveiling new plans to accelerate urban development and introduce modern housing solutions.
The renewed resolve came during a high-level meeting held at CDA Headquarters, chaired by CDA Chairman and Islamabad Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa. The session was attended by senior CDA officials including Member Planning, Member Finance, Director General Building Control, Director General Law, and others.
Chairman Randhawa instructed relevant departments to take firm and impartial action against illegal structures and encroachments, emphasizing that unchecked construction hinders the execution of development projects and disrupts urban planning.

Randhawa stressed that addressing the housing shortage in the capital is a top priority, and directed the Planning Wing to formulate a comprehensive strategy to fast-track new apartment complexes and commercial zones, especially in central sectors.
He also ordered improvements in the city’s public service infrastructure, including:
- Enhancing water supply reliability
