Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has been directed by a parliamentary panel to resolve pending land and built-up property compensation cases for Islamabad residents whose land was acquired by the authority.
The National Assembly Standing Committee on Interior and Narcotics Control, chaired by MNA Raja Khurram Shahzad Nawaz, discussed delays in payments for properties acquired in Sectors E-12, C-13, C-14, C-15, C-16, and H-16. The issue was highlighted through a calling-attention notice moved by MNAs Anjum Aqeel Khan and Malik Ibrar Ahmed.
Sector E-12, acquired in the 1970s and 1980s, still has unresolved compensation cases despite the sector being launched in 1989. While development in some sub-sectors has been completed, other areas continue to face delays due to pending built-up property claims.

The committee instructed the CDA to clear all genuine pending cases and reject any false claims. CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa recently directed the Deputy Commissioner CDA, Sardar Asif, to expedite the resolution of pending cases and keep the authority’s management informed.
Other sectors under discussion were acquired under the 2008 land-sharing formula, which entailed CDA receiving four-kanal plots in exchange for providing locals with one-kanal developed plots, along with compensation for built-up properties. However, many of these built-up property cases remain unresolved.
The committee also directed the CDA chairman to hold a meeting on December 2, 2025, with the movers of the notice and other concerned MNAs to review issues and submit a report at the next committee meeting.
Officials emphasized that resolving these pending cases is crucial for completing development
