Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is set to begin handing over possession of residential plots in Sector I-12 and Sector E-12 this week, marking a long-awaited development for allottees who have been awaiting progress for years.
According to officials, possession will initially be granted for around 3,000 plots, including 1,000 plots in Sector I-12/1 and 2,000 plots across sub-sectors E-12/2 and E-12/3. The decision follows approval by the CDA Board, allowing development and construction activities to proceed in the long-delayed sectors.

Authorities have confirmed that necessary arrangements for the handover process have been completed. The possession exercise is expected to formally open the sectors for construction, enabling allottees to begin building their homes after prolonged delays.
Sources indicate that preparations are also underway for an official distribution event, with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi likely to hand over possession letters to allottees in the coming days.
The development is being viewed as a significant step toward addressing longstanding housing delays in Islamabad. Many allottees have been waiting for decades for possession of their plots, and the move is expected to provide relief and revive construction activity in the affected sectors.
