Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA)’s Enforcement Directorate demolished several illegal structures in Melody Market between GPO Chowk and Aabpara Police station, under the drive launched against encroachment, according to a news source. After this operation, blocked tracks and footpaths were opened for public.
According to the Islamabad Mayor, who also serves as CDA chairman, the teams working on this task will continue their operations on a daily basis to ensure the complete eradication of all illegal structures.
He also said that the operation is meant to free Islamabad from encroachment as it is not only affecting the city’s aesthetics but also causing problems for pedestrians.
