Faisalabad: The Faisalabad divisional administration has announced a series of measures aimed at reducing pollution and promoting environmentally friendly practices in the city.
Divisional Commissioner and Administrator Metropolitan Corporation, Raja Jehangir Anwar, said the administration is relocating industries to limit environmental hazards and ensure compliance with international export and environmental standards.
To encourage the use of electric vehicles, free parking for electric bikes will be introduced, and newly licensed petrol stations, including government-run and police-operated stations, are required to install EV charging points.

In addition, permanent checkpoints will be established at city entry points, with random and fixed pickets equipped with smoke emission analysers. Vehicles exceeding prescribed emission limits will be denied entry into Faisalabad.
The administration has also partnered with universities in the city to enhance environmental research and education, aiming to build a stronger workforce capable of addressing local environmental challenges.
Officials said these initiatives are part of a long-term, multi-sectoral approach to make Faisalabad a cleaner and more sustainable city.
