Lahore: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has identified and sent notices to 16,000 holders of benami assets following the expiration of the Assets Declaration Scheme, a news source reported.
The FBR regional office in Lahore had identified these people a while ago. As per reports, the federal institution has collected their data through various sources.
Furthermore, the FBR teams also plan to pay visits to the major markets, and trade centres to identify the owners of benami assets. In addition, as revealed by the board earlier, the FBR will also confiscate properties of benami asset holders.
For this purpose, the FBR has made the necessary arrangements in its regional offices.
