Islamabad: Three multinational companies have been pre-qualified for the development of key infrastructure projects in the federal capital, including a new convention centre, expo centre and the Islamabad Arena, following approval at a high-level meeting chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Wednesday.
The meeting reviewed progress on the proposed developments and directed that all three projects be completed ahead of the upcoming SCO summit. Officials were instructed to expedite planning and execution to meet the timeline.
In addition to the major infrastructure projects, the meeting approved the acquisition of land for a new Khidmat Markaz in Sector F-6. The interior minister also sought a comprehensive plan for the redevelopment of Fatima Jinnah Park (F-9 Park) along the lines of London’s Hyde Park, with a focus on enhancing recreational facilities.
